The Introduction of .UK Domain:
. UK domain is the United Kingdom Top Level Domain, the same as .cn domain.

. UK Domain Type:
There are two types of management of .uk domain: Auto processing and Manual processing.
Auto: .co.uk /.me.uk /.org.uk
Manual: .ltd.uk / .plc.uk

Special Application Qualification for .ltd.uk & .plc.uk
The applicant must be a UK Limited company listed at Companies House (http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk). The name of the company must also match the domain name being registered, it would therefore only be possible for a company called "Onlinenic" (assuming it is a UK limited company) to register "onlinenic.ltd.uk" or "onlinenic.ltd.uk".

The .uk domain registration is not valid in real time. It requires feedback from the .uk registry to see if the registration is successful.
Auto processing: About 2 hours later, there will be a feedback from the registry to verify if the registration is successful. Manual processing: About 24 hours later, there will be a feedback from the registry to verify if the registration is successful.

Fill out the Domain Registration Information List for Domain Applicant
The Business License need to be filled on the Domain Registration Information List if register the .UK domain. This is different from .com/.net/.org domain.

Fixed Number of Years for .UK Domain Registration
. UK Domain can only be registered for 2/4/6/8 (even number, not odd number) years

.UK Domain Renewal
. UK domain can only be renewed 6 months before its expiration date. e.g. suppose the expiration date of domain 35.co.uk is 2006.09.06, the domain cannot be renewed before the date 2006.03.06, it can only be renewed after the date 2006.03.06.
The renewal fee cannot be refunded if the .uk domain is renewed thereafter deleted.

.UK Domain Query
.co.uk .me.uk .org.uk .ltd.uk : Can query if the domain has been registered, but cannot query the Whois Data of the registered domain.
.plc.uk : Cannot query if the domain has been registered and also the Whois Data of the registered domain.
